And in response to that, I would like to give my friends an informal apology for falling off the face of the planet again.
I’m just having a hard week and needed to be alone for a little while to recompose myself.
I hope that you all can understand, I never mean it personally. I’m just trying to stay strong.
Late Night Memory
I remember one night I was working late and Nick insisted on walking me home so he waited around the office until I got off. While we were walking home, I was scared because it was pitch black and I wasn’t used to the area. He kept trying to make me feel better by cracking jokes and I just couldn’t shake the anxiety. Then we turned the corner to a road where there were no street lights at all and I told him that it wasn’t safe and we needed to find another route home. And then I remember him looking at me in disbelief as he pointed to my left up in the sky asking me to look. As I turned my head that direction I saw a gold cross lit up against the dark sky and he said “Even in the darkest places God is still watching over us.” And all of my worries went away.
Words can not express how much I miss my best friend and its killing me that he will not be here to help celebrate my birthday with the plans that we created together…
It’s times like these that are the hardest.
